"public providers" and "hosted provider" on external policy

Hello All,

When you create or modify an external policy, you set communications with "Public provider access"

Does Public Providers includes access to hosted providers?

Based on my understanding, as long as you have federation enabled in the topology, when you configure hosting providers, it doe not require to set additional configuration.

Hi JO,

Based on my understanding, it should be the Federated user access.

The Public Provider access is to communicate with SKYPE, AOL, Yahoo! .

Best regards,

Eric

Hi Joise;

If you asking if the Public Providers includes access to your Lync host, actually yes by default to complete this federation you must accept that, but due to limited access as you put in the policy.

Users that are assigned a policy that allows "Public Provider Access", will be allowed to communicate with providers listed in the "SIP Federated Providers":
